Every Thread is a split view by default — Source on the right, notes on the left. The panel menu (the dual-panel icon next to the ⋯ three-dot menu in the top-right toolbar) lets you change that.

Three options:

Reversible?

Reverse views

Swaps panel positions — Source moves left, notes move right

Yes — click again to revert

Close source panel

Hides the source completely; notes expand to full screen

Yes — restore button appears in top-right

Open source

Opens the original source URL in a new browser tab

One-way — navigates away

When to use each:

  • Reverse views — if you prefer reading source content on the left like a webpage

  • Close source panel — when you've already read the source and want full focus on writing

  • Open source — when you need the original webpage (paywalls, links, sign-ins, anything blocked in the embedded view)
